Questions
Which headsets does FileBase run on?
FileBase runs on Meta Quest headsets with Meta Horizon OS.
Is FileBase free?
Yes. The free version covers everyday tasks with no usage limits. FileBase Pro is an optional $2.99 one-time purchase (US price) that adds batch images, AVIF, document and code editing, video presets and extra signatures. There is no subscription and no account.
I bought Pro. How do I get it on another headset?
Open About in FileBase and choose Restore purchase. Pro is tied to your Meta account, so restoring needs an internet connection the first time.
Does it need an internet connection?
Opening, editing and converting files works offline. Optional Slack sharing needs internet access. Local Access needs your headset and browser on the same Wi-Fi.
Where are my files kept?
In a FileBase folder on your headset. You can also open files from anywhere on the system and save copies back to either location.
What can I do with a 3D model?
View self-contained GLB 2.0 models, orbit, zoom and pan. Other 3D formats and model editing are not currently supported.
How does Local Access stay private?
Local Access shares only the FileBase folder with paired browsers while sharing is enabled. Each new session uses a new four-digit code. Transfers use unencrypted HTTP, so use a trusted network and turn sharing off when finished.
FileBase is an independent app for Meta Horizon OS. Questions, bug reports and format requests are welcome.
